Aadi Niranjan hai Guru Nanak,
➡️ From the primal beginning, Guru Nanak is the pure one beyond illusion.

➡️ He descended into this world as the savior form.
Lok sunio pralok sunio bidalok sunio, sabh darshan pāiō,
➡️ All realms — earthly, heavenly, and beyond — heard of Him and received His vision.
Sangat pār utāran ko Guru Nanak Sāhib panth chalāiō,
➡️ To ferry the congregation across the world-ocean, Guru Nanak established the Path.

➡️ The fragrance of sandalwood is incense, the wind is the fan.
Sagal banraay phoolant joti
➡️ All the vegetation and forests are flowers offering their beauty to You.

➡️ O Destroyer of fear, this is Your Aarti.

➡️ The unstruck sound (anhad shabad) resounds like drums and instruments.
Sahas tav nain nan nain hai tohi kau
➡️ You have thousands of eyes, yet You have none like ours.
Sahas murat nan ek tohi
➡️ You have thousands of forms, yet You are one formless being.
Sahas pad bimal nan ek pad gandh bin
➡️ You have thousands of feet, yet none like ours; You are without a body.
Sahas tav gandh ev chalatt mohi
➡️ You have thousands of noses, yet without a physical form.
Sab meh jot jot hai soye
➡️ In all is the Divine Light; that Light is You.
Tis da chanan sab meh chanan hoy
➡️ By that Light, all become illuminated.
Gur sakhī jot pargat hoy
➡️ Through the Guru’s teaching, the Light becomes revealed.
Jo tis bhavey so Aarti hoy
➡️ Whatever pleases You, that itself is Aarti (true worship).
Har charan kamal makrand lobhit mano
➡️ My mind longs for the nectar of Your lotus feet.
An-din mohi ahī piasa
➡️ Day and night, I thirst for You alone.
Kripa jal deh Nanak saring kau
➡️ O Lord, bless Nanak like a sarang bird with the water of mercy.
Hoi ja te terai naay vaasa
➡️ So that Your Name may dwell within me.

Sunn sandhiaa teri dev devakar adhpat aadi samaai
➡️ In the primal void, You, the Lord of all, absorbed Yourself into Yourself.
Sidh samaadhi ant nahi paaiya, laag rahe sarnai
➡️ Even through meditation and trance, Your limits cannot be found; we remain in Your refuge.

➡️ Perform the Aarti of the pure, formless Lord, O brothers, and worship the True Guru.
Thaadha Brahma nigam beechaare, alakh na lakhiaa jaai

➡️ The Divine Light lit by the Lord awakens the world, and only the wise can realize it.
Panche shabad anaahad baaje, sange saarangpaanee
➡️ The five eternal sounds resound within, along with the eternal current of life.

➡️ We request wholesome grains, pure and true.
Gau bhains maagoo laaveri
➡️ I ask for cows and buffaloes (livelihood, sustenance).

➡️ One good bullock for plowing is requested, O Lord.

➡️ May the household’s supplies be good.

➡️ The blessed devotee receives what he requests.

➡️ I do not wish to take from anyone else.
Madhau kaisi bane tau sange
➡️ May the wealth I earn be pure and in accordance with Dharma.
Aap na deho tale bahu maange, Waheguru
➡️ Do not give me more than I deserve; I seek only what is rightfully mine.
Doe ser maangiyo choona, paiyo ghee sang loona
➡️ I ask for two measures of lime, and receive ghee with salt.
Adh ser maangiyo daale, mohko dono waqt jeewale
➡️ Half measure of lentils, O Lord, gives me life for both times (day and night).
Khaat maangiyo chaupaai, sirhaana avar tulaai
➡️ I ask for a bed with mattress, a pillow and cover.
Upar ko maangiyo feenda, teri bhagat kare jaan theenda jee
➡️ I ask for protection from above, so Your devotee may live fully.
Main naahi keeta labhoh
➡️ I have gained nothing without Your grace.

➡️ By doing the deeds of the saints, the Lord becomes pleased.
Hai maha muni devan ke tap mai sukh paaven
➡️ The great sages and ascetics find bliss through meditation and penance.
Jag karai ik bed rrai, bhavatap harai mil dhiaanh laawe
➡️ The world may tremble in fear, but one who meditates on the Lord is freed from suffering and attains peace.
Jhaalar taal mridang upang, rabab lie sur saaj milaave
➡️ Bells, cymbals, drums, and stringed instruments join in unison, creating music in praise of the Lord.
Kinnar gandharb gaan karai, gan jachh apachhhar nirat dikhavawe
➡️ Kinnar and Gandharva (celestial musicians) sing and dance, performing in celebration of the Divine.
Sankhan ki dhun ghantan ki kari, phoolan ki barkha barkhaave
➡️ Conchs sound, bells ring, and flowers rain down in joyous offering.
Aarti kot karai sur sundar, pekh Purandar ke bali jaave
➡️ The Aarti is performed by the beautiful celestial beings, offering homage to Purandar (the Almighty).
Daanav dachhan dai kai praddhchan, bhaal mai kunkum achhat laawe
➡️ The demons and dark forces are subdued; holy offerings of sandal, vermilion, and flowers are placed at the Lord’s feet.
Hot kulaahal Devpuri, mil devan ke kul, mangal gaavae
➡️ In the city of the Gods, amidst joyous celebration, the celestial beings sing songs of blessing and victory.
Dohrā – Ese chand pratap te, devan vaddiyo pratap
➡️ Refrain: By the power of the moon-like glory, the divine beings’ greatness is magnified.
Teen lok jai jai kare, raam naam sat jaap
➡️ The three worlds chant victory, repeating the True Name of the Lord.
Hey Rab, hey Sas, hey Karunaanidhi
➡️ O Lord, O Eternal One, O Ocean of Mercy.
Abhai benati sun leejai, aur na maangat ho tum te kachh
➡️ Hear this humble plea without fear, and grant nothing but what is right and true.
Chahat ho chitt mein soi keejai
➡️ May the desires of the mind align with Your will.
Sadan siu at hi ran bheetar joojh maro, kaho saach patijai
➡️ In battle or in life, fight with courage and truth, remaining steadfast in righteousness.
Ant sahai sada jag mai, kirpa kar sanyam hai var deejaai
➡️ Be the eternal helper in the world, granting blessings of self-control and discipline.
As kirpan, khand, kharg, tubak, tabar ar teer
➡️ With the sacred sword, dagger, spear, mace, and bow and arrow…
Saif sarohi seithi, yahi hai hamare peer
➡️ The sword, shield, and all weapons are the support for the devotee in battle.
Teer tuhi seithi, tuhi tuhi tabar talwar
➡️ The arrow, the spear, the sword—all are under Your divine command.
Naam tiharo jo japai, bhaye sindh bhav paar
➡️ Those who chant Your Name cross the ocean of worldly existence safely.
Kaal tuhi, kaali tuhi, tuhi teg ar teer
➡️ You are Time, You are the power of destruction, You are the sword and the arrow.
Tuhi nishaani jeet ki, aaj tuhi jagbeer
➡️ You are the emblem of victory; today You are the Hero of the world.
Deh Shiva bar mohe, yeh subh karman te kabhū na taroon
➡️ O Lord Shiva, grant me the strength to never stray from righteous deeds.
Na daroon ar so jab jaaye, laron nischay kari apni jeet karoon
➡️ Let me never fear, and when battle comes, let me fight with determination and achieve victory.

➡️ As a Sikh, may I conquer my own mind, overcome greed, and always uphold virtue.

➡️ When the time of battle arrives, let me fight bravely in the thick of conflict.
Deh asis sabhai sur naar, sudhaari kai aarti deep jagaiyo
➡️ Grant Your blessings, O Lord, to all warriors; let the lamp of devotion illuminate the world.
Phool, sugandh su achhat, dachhan jachhan jeet ko gayeo
➡️ Offer flowers, fragrance, and pure rituals, singing victory songs for the righteous.
Dhoop jagai ke, sankh bajai ke, seesa nivai ke, bain sunaiyo
➡️ Burn incense, blow the conch, bow the head in devotion, and listen to the sacred music.
Hey jag maai sada sukh daai, tai sunbh ko ghaaye bado jas paayo
➡️ O Mother of the World, grant eternal bliss; through You, the devotee attains great glory.
Khag khand bihandan, khal dal khandan, ati ran mandan bar bandan
➡️ Birds, swords, flags, and battle formations—everything is under Your divine command in war.
Bhuj dand akhand tej prachandan, jot amand bhaan prabhand
➡️ With unbroken arms, fierce and shining, Your divine Light illuminates all.
Sukh santan karan, durmat daran, kilbikh haran, asi saran
➡️ Bringing peace to saints, destroying evil, removing obstacles, we surrender to Your refuge.
Jai jai jag kaaran, srisht ubaran, mam pratipaaran, jai tegan
➡️ Victory to the Creator of the world, who sustains the universe, protects me, and grants triumph through the sword.
Rogan te ar sogan te, jal sogan te, bahu bhanti bachave
➡️ From diseases, sorrows, and floods, You protect in many ways.
Satar anek chalavat ghaav tau tan ek na lagan paave
➡️ Even if seventy-one wounds are inflicted, the body remains unharmed by Your grace.
Raakhat hai apno kar de, kar paap sambhooh bhetan paave
➡️ You protect Your own and allow them to receive the rewards of good deeds and avoid sins.
Jite sastra naam, namaskaar taam, jite astra bheyan, namaskaar teyan
➡️ Wherever there is the weapon of the Name, salute it; where there are physical weapons, salute them too.
Chatr chakr warte, chatr chakr bhugte
➡️ Those who wield the sword and discus shall use it for righteousness; those who endure it shall remain steadfast.
Suyambhav subham, sarbada sarb jugte
➡️ The self-existent Lord is always auspicious and prevails through all ages.
Dukaalan pranaasi, dikalan sarupe
➡️ He destroys evil and restores order everywhere.
Sada ang sange, abhang bhipoote
➡️ Forever accompanies us in body, mind, and spirit.
Paaye gehay jab te tumre, tab te kou aankh tare naahi aaneo
➡️ When we are under Your protection, no one’s eyes can harm us.
Ram Raheem, Puran, Quran, anek kahen mat ek na maanyo
➡️ People may follow Ram, Rahim, Puran, Quran—so many scriptures—but none alone can reveal the Truth fully.
Simrit, shastras bes sabai, bahu bhed kahai ham ek na jaanayo
➡️ Memory, scriptures, and all sacred texts speak in many ways; yet I cannot fully comprehend the One Truth.
Sri Aspaan kripa tumri, kar mai na kahayo sab tohi bakhaanayo
➡️ By Your grace, O Lord, I have not described everything, but only as much as You have revealed.
Dohrā – Sagal duaar ko chhaad kai, gehiyo tuhaaro duaar
➡️ Refrain: Abandoning all other doors, I have approached only Your door.
Baanh gehai ki laaj, as Gobind daas tuhaar
➡️ With humility and folded hands, Your servant Gobind stands before You.
Chintan ta ki keejai jo anhoni hoye
➡️ What worries can one have when the impossible may occur?
Ehu maarg sansaar ko, Nanak phir naahi koee
➡️ This path, revealed to the world by Nanak, has no equal.
Jo upajayo so bins hai, paro ajey ke kaal
➡️ Whatever arises in the world eventually perishes, according to time.
Nanak har gun gaayein lai
➡️ Nanak sings praises of the Lord, the embodiment of all virtues.
Chhaad sagal janjaal, naam rahio, saadh ho rahio
➡️ Abandon all entanglements, remain in the Name, and live as a true devotee.
Rahio Guru Gobind, kaho Nanak, ehu jagat mein
➡️ Stay close to Guru Gobind; says Nanak, in this world…
Bin japio Gur mant, Ram Naam ur mein gaayo, ja ke sam naahi koee
➡️ Without chanting the Guru’s mantra, the Lord’s Name in your heart will go unheard by anyone else.
Yeh simrat sang kat mite, dars tuhaaro hoye
➡️ By remembering the Name, all sins are destroyed and You receive the Lord’s vision.
Ram Naam ur mein gaayo, ja ke sam naahi koee
➡️ Chant the Name of Ram in your heart, for none else can attain it otherwise.
Yeh simrat sang kat mite, dars tuhaaro hoye
➡️ With this remembrance, all burdens vanish and You attain the Lord’s darshan (vision).
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh
➡️ The Khalsa belongs to Waheguru, and victory belongs to Waheguru!
